Crunchyroll shipped two figures I purchased in a relatively large box without any packing material. While I normally do not write a bad review for this type of thing, crunchyroll kept emailing me asking for my opinion on the figures I purchased, so I will not feel bad to voice my frustration.
Most shipping companies in the US are optimized for speed and cost, with little to no regard for the actual items being shipped. Knowing this, I can not understand why crunchyroll would not add a single piece of packing material to protect these expensive and relatively fragile pieces of plastic artwork.
I can understand not wanting to create more waste, however, there are many low impact options available such as shredded recycled paper or even folded/crumpled paper that are commonly used by other retailers that crunchyroll is in competition with.
Thankfully, there was no damage to either of the figures, which is mostly a testament to the great job of packing the manufacturer did, and the fact that the box delivered to my door was in good shape, unlike the crushed lump of cardboard that I typically find.
All I can say is please do a better job, crunchyroll, if you would like to be considered seriously by people who want to buy figures and not have to worry about what damage may occur.
The only reason I purchased these figures from crunchyroll in the first place was because of them being exclusive to CR. I won't make that mistake again and I'll see if they fix their shipping…
