In the fall of 1966, mysterious events occur at an American military base in Japan. Shape-shifting vampires have infested them and are causing a series of suicides in the neighboring town. The mysterious Saya is sent to stop the murderous vampires. Disguised as a schoolgirl and armed with her sword, she sets out to find the origin of the demon spawn - and she herself is the last pure-blooded vampire. Blood the Last Vampire is the first anime film to be produced entirely digitally. It is based on an idea by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) and was directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo at the animation studio Production IG (Ghost in the Shell, Kill Bill Vol. 1).
