A story about friendship, growing up and… swimming! After many years, childhood friends Haruka, Nagisa and Makoto meet Rin, a former member of their swimming club. After Haruka was clearly beaten by him in a competition, the three of them set out to find a fourth member for the Iwatobi Swimming Club in order to be able to face Rin in an official competition. They come across Rei, who is actually in the athletics club and can't swim at all. With a lot of persuasion and charm, will they be able to win him over as the last member needed for the medley relay? Animated by the legendary studio Kyoto Animation, Free! stands out from the pool of anime sports series in an impressive way. A loyal fan base quickly formed, which awarded the touching story and the fantastic animations their personal gold medal.
