Dragon Ball Z picks up five years after Son Goku's wedding. Radditz, a mysterious space warrior, arrives on Earth to find Goku, who then learns that he comes from a planet of warriors of which only four survivors remain. The plot of the story is based on a succession of adversaries to fight, increasingly stronger, but there is also frequently a context of quest or journey which gives interest other than simple duels. The series has become a global phenomenon, generating massive merchandise sales and being considered one of the most influential anime franchises of all time. Chiho Kiyooka (YU YU HAKUSHO), Takeshi Ike (TRANSFORMERS) and Keiju Ishikawa (GODZILLA) collaborated on the anime series' iconic music.
