In 2017, the Holy Britannic Empire invades the territory of the European Republic (E.U.), an alliance of European nations, as it once did in Japan. To avert defeat, the EU army forms a special unit: “Wyvern-Zero”. This unit of so-called Knightmare Frames, humanoid fighting machines, consists of Japanese young people from Area 11, most of whom live in ghettos without rights or prospects for the future. The members of this unit also include Akito Hyûga and Commander Leila Malkal, a British native of noble descent who leads the Wyvern Knightmare Squad. They must prepare for a hopeless battle against the Holy Britannic Empire, where the survival rate is less than 5 percent... The W-0 unit has revealed the enemy's true face: it is Shin, Akito's older brother. He ordered the younger man to die by using his Geass on him. On their way back to base, Weiswolf Castle, the unit ends up in Warsaw due to complications and Akito tells Leila what happened back then. Meanwhile, British military strategist Julius Kingsley, who is actually Lelouch and has apparently been brainwashed, and his bodyguard Suzaku Kururugi are working with the Order of Saint Michael to crush European resistance once and for all - with the help of a giant weapon and their destructive power... Yukiya launched a momentous attack that destroyed most of the enemy's units. Shortly afterwards his plane crashes, but Leila and Akito leave no stone unturned to save him. Meanwhile, the enemy troops of the Knights of Michael, led by Akito's brother Shin, continue to advance towards Weiswolf Castle. When they storm Leila and her comrades' base despite fierce resistance, the final battle between the two brothers occurs, in which the true background of their childhood and Shin's curse comes to light. And Leila also has to face her past and the power of the Geass if she wants to save her friends from certain death... The OVA series is a side story of Code Geass from Sunrise, with the original character design by Studio CLAMP, and takes place between the rise of the Black Knights organization and the return of the supposedly “dead” Zero. A must for die-hard Code Geass fans!
