After the death of her parents, little Oriko Seki, known to everyone as Okko, moves in with her grandmother Mineko, who runs a traditional hostel. Once there, she somehow lets it slip that she wants to become Mineko's successor. She only parroted the words of the little ghost boy Uri-Bo, whom only she can see. Because of course Okko has no idea at all about her grandmother's work. While the young innkeeper tries to serve guests in a kimono and fulfill the wishes of Harunoya's rather unconventional visitors, Uri-Bo is always at her side. He teams up with Okko against her classmate Matsuki, because the ambitious daughter of the luxurious Shuuko hostel always knows everything better. But Uri-Bo is by no means the only spirit who accompanies her into her new life and on the path to adulthood. The nomination for best animated film for the 2019 Oscar shows: No one is deserted by good spirits in this inn.
