High school student Yoichi Isagi's soccer career seems to come to an early end when his team loses the National Championship qualifying game at the last minute, ending his chance of being discovered as a young talent. But when he comes home after the game, a letter is waiting for him: The Japan Football Association invites him to a “special training camp”! It quickly becomes clear that this camp is indeed unusual, as all of the invited players appear to be strikers. A man who introduces himself as Jinpachi Ego appears on stage and explains that this is the Blue Lock project, whose goal is to create a striker in Japan who can compete with the best in the world can.
