The latter half of the second season features major changes to the City Hunter universe! Miki, a beautiful ex-mercenary seeks to marry her old mentor, Umibozu. Sayuri, a newspaper editor, confides to Ryo that she’s actually Kaori’s older sister. The coffee shop Cat’s Eye becomes a regular meet-up place for the characters and place of employment for Kasumi, the retired thief once known as Phantom 305. Meanwhile, Kaori sees a lot of action, such as becoming a thief to save an orphanage and rescuing herself and her sister from kidnappers. The second season culminates in a special three-part story, in which Ryo’s former partner from the US, “Bloody Mary,” reappears. Though a successful model now, Mary is haunted by her past, which threatens to kill both her and Ryo in the present. All this, plus Ryo Saeba’s “secret origin”!
